Agreement
These Terms govern your use of face-finder.org and the Face Finder service. By creating an account, buying credits, or starting a search, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement.
What Face Finder provides
Face Finder sends a submitted image to an authorized third-party search provider and displays possible visual matches connected to public web pages. Results are ordered by the provider's confidence score.
Results are investigative leads, not proof of identity, authenticity, ownership, wrongdoing, or any other fact. A confidence score is not a legal conclusion. You are responsible for reviewing the source and context before drawing conclusions.
Accounts
Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly tell us about unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may require email verification, rate-limit activity, or suspend access to protect the service.
Your images and instructions
You keep your rights in images you submit. You give Face Finder and its service providers a limited, non-exclusive license to host, transmit, process, and display them only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service.
You promise that you have the legal right, permission, or other lawful basis to upload each image and request the search. Do not upload confidential images or images you are prohibited from using.
Acceptable use
You must not use Face Finder to:
- violate privacy, publicity, biometric, intellectual-property, data-protection, anti-discrimination, or other laws;
- stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, dox, extort, shame, or facilitate violence against anyone;
- search for or attempt to identify a child;
- make or support decisions about employment, housing, education, credit, insurance, healthcare, public benefits, policing, immigration, or other high-impact or regulated matters;
- build a face-recognition database, systematically track people, or perform automated surveillance;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent the origin or certainty of a result;
- bypass account, payment, credit, rate, access, or security controls;
- scrape, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or overload the service; or
- use the service for any unlawful purpose.
We may investigate suspected misuse and restrict or terminate access. Where appropriate or legally required, we may preserve information and cooperate with lawful requests.
Credits, subscriptions, and payment
- One accepted face search costs one credit.
- A successfully completed search is charged even when it returns zero matches.
- If the provider rejects the request, cannot be reached, or does not complete before the service timeout, Face Finder automatically returns the reserved credit.
- Monthly subscription credits reset each billing month and do not roll over.
- Credit-pack credits do not expire while your account remains active, unless required to address fraud, chargebacks, or legal obligations.
- Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise. Taxes may be added at checkout.
Stripe processes payments. Subscription renewals continue until canceled. You can cancel through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the checkout terms say otherwise. Except where law requires or Face Finder expressly states otherwise, completed credit purchases and successfully accepted searches are non-refundable.
We may change future prices or plan allowances. A change will not retroactively reduce already purchased, unexpired pack credits.
Image retention and case records
Submitted images and cached result thumbnails are stored under a Cloudflare R2 lifecycle intended to delete them after 24 hours. Search metadata and source links may remain in your private account history after images expire. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Third-party services and availability
The service depends on third parties, public source pages, and provider availability. Sources may change, disappear, block access, or contain inaccurate, unlawful, or offensive material. We do not control or endorse third-party pages and cannot guarantee a match, completeness, uninterrupted availability, or a particular outcome.
Intellectual property
Face Finder's software, branding, and original site content are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. Feedback may be used without restriction or compensation.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account through account settings. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, risk, fraud, chargeback, legal requirement, provider restriction, or harm to Face Finder or others. Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Face Finder is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties and do not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or completeness of search results.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Face Finder and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of profits or data, or harm arising from reliance on a result or third-party source. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid Face Finder in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. The date above shows the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the site or account email when appropriate. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
